Story of Bhidbhanjan Parshwanath Bhagwan

In the heart of Kheda City, along the bustling Ahmedabad-Bombay highway, a tale of spiritual discovery unfolds. The city's transformation into a Jain hub is credited to the revered Acharya Shri Vijayraj, who, under a serene banyan tree near Hariyala village, shared the tenets of Jainism with the eager locals. Witnessing their sincerity, the Acharya imparted teachings, and the village embraced Jainism, taking vows under his guidance.

Driven by the villagers' newfound devotion, the Acharya suggested digging beneath his seat. In 1516 of the Vikram era, a profound discovery awaited—the unearthed treasure included a radiant idol of Bhagwan Bhidbhanjan Parshwanath, adorned with a captivating smile. A temple was promptly erected, becoming the sanctum for this precious Parshwanath idol, dating back to the era of King Samprati.

This sacred place, nestled in Kheda City, holds historical significance as the birthplace of Upadhyaya Shri Udayratnaji and Acharya Shri Kapursurisvarji. The temple's timeless aura extends beyond its walls, casting a spiritual glow on holy days like Karthik Purnima and Chaitri Purnima.

The artistry embedded in the idol, echoing the era of King Samprati, radiates an extraordinary charm. The temple underwent renovations in V.S. 1794, with its latest rejuvenation marking the Vikram era 2053. Surrounded by eight other temples in the Kheda district, this site stands as a testament to faith and heritage.

Guiding seekers to this sacred haven, the Nadiad railway station, 18 kilometers away on the Ahmedabad-Bombay highway, serves as a gateway. Bus and taxi services facilitate travel, ensuring pilgrims find respite in the available dharamshala and bhojanshala facilities. With an upashray, a pathshala, and an ayambilshala, the temple caters to spiritual and educational needs. The proximity to Dhokla, Matar, and Khambhat enhances the accessibility of this revered site.

The timeless tale of Bhagwan Bhidbhanjan Parshwanath extends beyond Kheda, finding echoes in scriptures like "365 Shri Parshvajin Naammala," "Shri Sankheswar Parshwanath Chand," and "Shri Bhateva Parshwanath Stavan." The spiritual resonance transcends geographical boundaries, with temples dedicated to Bhidbhanjan Parshwanath gracing locations like Jiravala Tirth, Kalikund Parshwanath temple in Santacruz, Mumbai, and Gujrati Jainwadi, Chennai.

Under the custodianship of Shri Bhidbhanjan Parshwanath Jain Shwetambar Tirth Pedhi, this temple in Patelvado, near the main post office in Kheda, Gujarat, stands as a living testament to a divine connection nurtured through centuries.
