In the historic city of Jamnagar, Saurashtra, stands a remarkable shrine featuring a nearly 118 cms. high black-colored idol of Bhagwan Bhabha Parshwanath in the Padmasana posture, adorned with an umbrella of 7 hoods, crafted from sand. This sacred abode is one of three dedicated to Bhabha Parshwanath, with the other two situated in Patan and Ahmedabad.
The roots of Jamnagar's religious legacy trace back to the migration of revered figures like Shri Vardhaman Shah, Shri Padamsingh Seth, Shri Tejsi Seth, and Shri Raisingh Seth from Bhadreshwar. These stalwart personalities, known as Shresthis, played a pivotal role in constructing the Choriwala Mandir, a grand temple in the city. On the auspicious day of the 8th day of the bright half of the month of Vaisakh in V.S.1678, the captivating idol of Bhabha Parshwanath found its abode here, sanctified by the revered hands of Acharya Shri Kalyansagarsurishvarji.
Despite the diaspora of many Jain community members from Jamnagar residing abroad, their commitment to religious activities remains unwavering. The community has actively contributed to the establishment of numerous temples across villages in Jamnagar, exemplifying their deep-rooted connection to their faith.
The tapestry of spirituality in Jamnagar is woven with 16 temples, each a testament to architectural brilliance and artistic splendor reminiscent of Shatrunjay Mahatirth. The intricate carvings, captivating idols, and vibrant embellishments within the temples add to the allure of this sacred city.
Jamnagar, accessible by rail and road, connects to all major cities in Gujarat. The city hosts Dharamshala and Bhojanshala facilities, with a renowned Sanskrit School attracting scholars keen on learning the ancient language. The devout Jain community contributes to the religious ambiance, welcoming Chari-Pali Sanghs for Updhaan Tapasya.
Scriptures such as "365 Shri Parshva Jin Naammala," "Shri Sankheswar Parshvanath Chaand," "Shri Godi Parshvanath Stavan," and others honor the significance of Bhabha Parshwanath. Additionally, idols of Bhabha Parshwanath grace Kareda Tirth and the Kalikund Parshvanath temple in Santacruz, Mumbai.
Beyond Jamnagar, the sanctity of Bhabha Parshwanath extends to an ancient temple in Bhabha ka Pado, Patan. The Mulnayak, an alluring idol believed to be from the period of King Samprati, stands amidst skillful architecture, adorned with paintings depicting Lord Parshwanath's past ten births. The temple, renovated in V.S. 2015, emanates divine vibes, with tales of midnight bells, musical tunes, and fragrances lingering in the air.
In Ahmedabad, another ancient temple venerates Bhabha Parshwanath, housing a small yet aesthetically pleasing idol. The city boasts numerous other renowned temples.
