Story of Dhutaklol Parshwanath Bhagwan

In the heart of Suthari village stands a remarkable temple featuring a 30 cm high, white-colored idol of Bhagwan "Ghrutkalol Parshwanath" in the Padmasana posture. This sacred site, situated in the Kutch-Bhuj Abdasa Panchtirthi, holds a tale of divine intervention and unwavering faith.

Shri Uddeshi, a financially troubled Jain Shravak, received a celestial message guiding him to acquire the idol of Parshwanath from a local villager. Purchasing the idol, he placed it in his granary, devoutly worshipping it. The turning point came when Shresthi Meghansha organized a village feast, but fearing insufficient food, he prayed to Bhagwan Parshwanath for help. Submerging the idol in ghee, a miraculous event unfolded—the ghee container remained inexhaustible, satisfying the entire village.

This awe-inspiring idol, known as "Ghrutkalol Parshwanath," was handed over to the Jain Sangh in the Vikram era 1721 and eventually enshrined in a temple. In 1896, during the bright half of Vaishakh, the idol found its permanent abode in a magnificent temple, renowned for its miraculous occurrences.

The temple, part of the Kutch-Bhuj Abdasa Panchtirthi, boasts intricate artistry and peaks that enhance its beauty. Choumukhi idols grace the upper floor, accompanied by a temple dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath. Notably, ancient idols of Gautam Swami and Padmavatidevi captivate visitors.

Located in Suthari village, this sacred place attracts pilgrims with the promise of thrice-yearly sunlight touching the idol's feet. While there are no other temples presently, the temple complex offers facilities such as Dharamshala and Bhojanshala.

For travelers, Bhuj, 86 km away, serves as the nearest railway station, while Gandhidham is 160 km distant. The well-maintained roads facilitate bus and taxi services to the temple. Scriptures such as "365 Shri Parshva Jin Naammala" and others document the significance of this temple.

A mention of Ghrutkalol Parshwanath can also be found in the Kalikund Parshwanath temple in Santacruz, Mumbai. The temple is administered by the Shri Suthari Ghrutkalol Parshwanath Shwetambar Jain Derasar Pedhi, reachable at Post: Suthari-370490, Taluk: Abdasa, District: Kutch, Gujarat State, India, with contact number 02831-84223.
