Celebration of Kartik Poonam

Kartik Poonam is celebrated on Purnima (full moon day) or the 15th lunar day of Kartik month (according to Hindu calender) or else in the month of November or December. It is also known as Dev Diwali. It is an important day according to jainism as, it is the day on which the pilgrimage of Shatrunjay Giriraj gets restarted. After the spam of four months, the pilgrimage of Shatrunjay Giriraj gets started on this day. Choumasa/Chaturmas are of four months while which during this day gets completed. Many people on this auspicious occasion visit the pilgrimage place of Shatrunjay. Not only Shatrunjay Giriraj but also other Pilgrimage places which were close for devotees, are now completely open on this day. People also start eating leafy vegetables and other food which they weren't having in Chaturmas. On this day, in many temples people do auspicious pooja of Shatrunjay Giriraj.

21 Khamashnas

9 Logassa

20 Navkarvalis by chanting-

Shri Shatrunjay Giriraj Namh

Its been also belived that on this day, Dravid and Varikhilla got salvation with other ten crore monks from the place of Shatrunjay Giriraj.
