POSITION – Between the Siddha and Acharya Pad
COLOR – symbolised by the colour white
NAME – Samyag in Sanskrit means “Right” and Darshan means “view”.
VIRTUE – PAD – Samyag Darshan means to have the Right View/perspective. It also refers to the faith in the preaching of the Arihant. Samyag Darshan is the root of all the Dharma(Spirituality). Dharma or Spirituality starts with the right view and perspective. One can only discern if he or she has right perspective. All knowledge is like ignorance without Samyag Darshan. It is the Faith in the nine doctrines and devotion for them; having absolute falth in and devotion for the commandments of the Paramatma.
This is the first of the Three Gems in Jainism to attain salvation.
