Importance of day 10 of dasalakahan
Day 10 of the Das Lakshan Parva is Uttam Brahmacharya — supreme celibacy (chastity).
Why it is important:
- It marks the culmination of the tenfold effort to purify the soul through self-control of body, speech, and mind.
- Practicing Brahmacharya on this day helps reduce desires and attachments, supporting inner purity and spiritual progress toward liberation.
- In Digambar practice, the ten days are dedicated to these virtues in sequence, with Brahmacharya as the final focus, shaping conduct and mindset for the year ahead. The end of the period is often followed by collective prayers for forgiveness (kshamavani), reinforcing humility and harmony in the community.
