For how many years panchamkaal kaal will last?
Panchamkaal (the fifth kaal) is the fifth stage in the descending half-cycle (Avasarpini) and, in Jain cosmology, this kaal lasts 21,000 years. It began a little after Mahavira’s nirvana, so we are currently a few thousand years into it and there are many thousands more to come. Specifically, if you take the traditional timeline, about 18,500 years remain before it ends (21,000 total minus roughly 2,500 years since Mahavira’s nirvana). Different Jain texts sometimes give slightly different dates for Mahavira’s nirvana, but the length of Panchamkaal itself is consistently given as 21,000 years. ( jainknowledge.com)
