ashtamangal photos in order
Ashtamangal (eight auspicious symbols) are traditionally listed in this order:
1) Swastika 2) Shrivatsa 3) Nandyavarta (Nandhyavarta) 4) Vardhamanaka 5) Bhadrasana (Sinhasana) 6) Kalasha (full water vessel) 7) Minyugala (pair of fish) 8) Darpana (mirror)
This is the common sequence found in Jain scriptures and practice, with very small variations sometimes seen between Śvetāmbara and Digambara houses, but the essential meanings and the order above remain standard in Jain worship and art. The symbols are used in temples and home puja, and are often drawn with pure unbroken rice grains before images of the Tirthankaras.
