I have q feeling of vibration (electric shock like shiver) for a second whenever I think about moksh. What does this mean. Take tyour time think and answer
In Jain view, such a feeling can be meaningful, but it must be understood carefully and calmly.
1. What it might mean spiritually
When you think of moksh and you feel a brief vibration or shiver, it can be seen as:
- Uday of past samskārs / karma
- Samvega or deep inner touch
- Reminder of the soul’s true nature
All this is possible, but it is not something we can label with certainty as “special sign” or “guarantee of progress”. Jain āgams very clearly describe stages of spiritual development (gunasthānaks), but they do not say that such small bodily vibrations alone prove any high stage.
2. What it does not automatically mean
- It does not automatically mean you are at a very high spiritual level.
- It does not automatically mean you are “near moksh” in this life.
- It also does not mean something is wrong spiritually.
Jain dharma always teaches: Do not cling to experiences. What matters is:
- Right faith (samyak darshan)
- Right knowledge (samyak jnān)
- Right conduct (samyak chāritra)
These are known by your beliefs, understanding, and daily behaviour, not by momentary sensations.

3. How to relate to this feeling in a Jain way
- Stay neutral towards it (samyak bhāv).
- If the vibration comes, notice it calmly. - Don’t become proud (“I am very special”) and don’t become afraid. - Just see it as uday of some karma + a sensitive mind thinking of a high subject.
- Use it as a trigger for good bhāv.
Whenever it happens, you can gently bring to mind: - Navkār Mantra (even once, slowly) - A simple inner prayer: “May I walk on the true path to moksh with right faith, knowledge, and conduct.”
- Focus on steady practice, not sensation.
According to Jain dharma, real progress is in: - Reducing anger, pride, deceit, greed in daily life - Living more ahimsak, honest, simple life - Doing small regular practices: Navkār, swādhyāy, pratikraman, maitri-bhāvanā
If this experience inspires you to move in that direction, then it is being used well.
4. A small practical check
Although you asked spiritually, it’s also wise (and fully allowed in Jainism) to be careful about the body:
- If the “electric shock” feeling is very strong, frequent, associated with other issues (faintness, heart racing, severe anxiety, etc.), it is sensible to speak to a doctor once.

In short: Such a brief vibration when thinking of moksh can simply be a natural bodily response to a deep, serious thought and the uday of past bhavs. Treat it calmly, don’t over-interpret it, and gently let it push you toward more steady Jain practice and purer bhāv.
