Jai jinendra meaning
“Jai Jinendra” is a common Jain greeting.
Simple meaning:
- Jai = victory, glory, salute, “hail”
- Jinendra = the Lord Jina – the Tirthankars / Jinas who have conquered inner enemies like anger, pride, deceit and greed.
So “Jai Jinendra” means “Victory to the Jina” or “Hail the Lord Jinendra.” When we say it, we are:
- Showing respect to the Tirthankars
- Remembering their qualities of self‑control and non‑violence
- Indirectly wishing that we too walk on their path and conquer our passions
Both Digambar and Shwetambar Jains use this greeting, and the meaning is the same in both traditions.
