In Jain tradition, Bhagwan Rishabhdev (Adinath) is not counted as a Chakravarti.

    • Rishabhdev Bhagwan is the 1st Tirthankar of the current Avasarpini (descending half‑cycle).
    • His son Bharata is the first Chakravarti of this Avasarpini.
    • In every half‑cycle (Avasarpini and Utsarpini), there are 12 Chakravartis, but they are different from Tirthankars.
    • Some Tirthankars (like Shantinath, Kunthunath, Aranath) were Chakravarti before taking diksha and becoming Tirthankars – but Rishabhdev himself is not listed among the 12 Chakravartis in either Digambar or Shwetambar tradition.

About past Utsarpini (previous ascending cycles):

    • The pattern is the same in every Utsarpini and Avasarpini: 24 Tirthankars, 12 Chakravartis, 9 Vasudev, 9 Baldev, 9 Prativasudev.
    • Names of those earlier Utsarpini Chakravartis are generally not given in detail in our commonly studied scriptures; what is important is the fixed structure of time, not that Rishabhdev was once a Chakravarti.

So, according to both Digambar and Shwetambar understanding:

    • Rishabhdev = Tirthankar, Yugadidev, not Chakravarti.
    • Bharat Chakravarti (his son) is the famous Chakravarti of our current time‑cycle.
