2. Does Namokar Mantra align with astrology and “cosmic energy”?

Jain Dharma has a different base:

• Karma, not grah–nakshatra (planets–stars), is the main cause of our happiness–suffering.
• The universe is eternal, runs by its own natural laws; there is no controller God adjusting planets for us. ( jainknowledge.com)
• Devas, planets, etc. are themselves jivas under karma, not ultimate controllers.

So, from pure Jain standpoint:

• We do not chant Namokar to fix planets or astrology.
• We chant it to purify our own bhav (inner state), which weakens bad karmas. When karmas become lighter, naturally obstacles reduce, mind becomes calm, and life feels smoother – people may call this “positive energy” or “cosmic vibration”, but Jain shastra explains it through karmic purification and right bhav, not through astrology. If someone wants, they may personally connect it with “cosmic energy”, but authentic Jain explanation is always in terms of soul + karma + right effort.

3. Why Jains don’t bow to other deities like Shiv or Vishnu?

Very important Jain principles:

1. No creator God

- Jainism does not accept any creator-ruler Ishwar who made this universe. - So concepts of Shiv/Vishnu as creators & destroyers do not match Jain philosophy. ( jainknowledge.com)

1. Who is worthy of namaskar?

- Jain bowing (vandana) is directed to those who are vitrag (free from passions) and karmically perfect: - Arihant – omniscient, with body, passions destroyed - Siddha – completely liberated soul - Plus Acharya, Upadhyaya, Sadhu who walk on that path. - Goal difference: Jain dharma’s sole goal is moksha; worship should support that. - Bhav (intention): When bowing to Panch Parmeshti we think, > “I bow to your gunas (virtues). May I also become like you.” Not: “Give me money, success, revenge, etc.” - If we start worshiping deities seen as worldly protectors or wish‑fulfillers, our bhav shifts from moksha to material things, which weakens the Jain path.

1. Respect vs. worship

- Jains are taught to respect all beings and all religions (ahiṃsā, anekānt). - But formal worship, namaskar, and surrender are reserved for Arihant–Siddha–Acharya–Upadhyaya–Sadhu, because: - They have actually reached or are guiding to moksha. - Their worship never creates attachment to a particular form or family god, only to pure qualities.

So:

• A Jain should firmly take spiritual refuge only in Panch Parmeshti and Jain Dev–Guru–Dharma.
• Not bowing to Shiv/Vishnu is not hatred, it is clarity of path:

“My goal is liberation; I bow only where that path is perfectly realized and taught.”
