In Jainism, “Bharat Kshetra” is not a list of modern countries, but a spiritual–cosmological region in Jambudvipa.

Very simply:

• The universe’s middle world (Madhya Lok) has a central continent called Jambudvipa.
• Jambudvipa is divided into several big regions (kshetras). One of them is Bharat Kshetra.
• Our present human world (what we call India, Pakistan, Nepal, etc.) is understood as lying inside Bharat Kshetra, but:

- Bharat Kshetra ≠ just modern India - It is much larger and described in scriptural terms, not like a political map with “countries”.

So, from Jain viewpoint:

• We do not talk of “Bharat Kshetra = these specific countries”.
• We say: this whole earthly region where we live, and where the 24 Tirthankars of the current time‑cycle were born (including Bhagwan Mahavir), belongs to Bharat Kshetra.
