Among the 24 Tirthankars of our current time‑cycle:

• Digambar tradition:

- All 24 Tirthankars (past, present, future of this avasarpinī) are regarded as male. - So, no female Tirthankar in the list.

• Śvetāmbara tradition:

- 19th Tirthankar, Śrī Mallināth Bhagwān, is held to have taken birth as a female (Mallī Devī). - So, in their understanding, there is one female Tirthankar in the list of 24.

Important Jain point: The jīva (soul) is genderless; male or female body is only a temporary form. Tirthankar‑hood comes from very rare Tirthankar‑nāma‑karma, not from gender.
