miracles or unknown facts of naminath nhagwan

    6 months ago 131

Here are some beautiful “miracle-like” atishay and lesser‑known facts about Bhagwan Naminath (21st Tirthankar), based on Jain tradition:

    1. War stopped while He was still in the womb

    - When Queen Vipra Devi (Vipra / Vapra) was pregnant, many powerful kings came to attack Mithila. - The palace scholars advised King Vijay to send the pregnant queen to the terrace and let her look at the armies. - As soon as she lovingly glanced at them, the aura of the pious Tirthankar‑soul in her womb made all the attacking kings calm down. - Their anger vanished, they surrendered and bowed down instead of fighting. - Because enemies “bowed down” (Namana), the child was named Naminath – “the one to whom all bow.”

    1. His birth brought peace and fearlessness

    - He was born on Shravan Vad 8 (dark half of Shravan) to King Vijay Raja and Queen Vipra Devi in Mithila. - Jain granths say that at the time of His birth, there was a feeling of shanti (peace) and abhaya (fearlessness) in the kingdom – people, animals and even enemies felt calm.

    1. Blue Lotus (Neel Kamal) symbol

    - His lanchhan (symbol) is the blue lotus. - It represents purity, humility and calmness even in the “mud” of worldly life. - In temples, if you see a Tirthankar with a blue lotus mark on the pedestal, it is Bhagwan Naminath.

    1. Omniscience under the Bakul tree

    - After ruling wisely for many years, He took diksha on Ashadh Vad 9 along with many others. - After 9 months of deep tapas He attained Keval‑jnan (omniscience) in a garden near Mithila, under a Bakul tree. - His first deshna (sermon) was specially on Samyak Darshan – Right Faith / Right Perception.

    1. Nirvana at Sammed Shikharji with many sadhus

    - Bhagwan Naminath attained Moksha at Shri Sammed Shikharji on Vaishakh Vad 10. - Jain tradition says 1,000 sadhus attained moksha along with Him – showing how powerful His spiritual influence was.

    1. Special spiritual powers (Atishay)

Traditional Jain kathas describe many atishay (extraordinary qualities) of a Tirthankar’s body and presence. For Naminath Bhagwan, some highlighted ones are: - Shant swabhav – His mere presence made angry minds peaceful. - Divine tejas (aura) – people felt devotion and humility just by seeing Him. - Perfect compassion – His life and teachings strongly emphasize ahimsa and daya for all living beings.

    1. Agreement of Digambar & Shwetambar traditions

Both traditions agree on the main points about Him: - 21st Tirthankar in the present avasarpini - Parents: Vijay Raja and Vipra/Vapra Devi - Birth in Mithila - Symbol: Blue Lotus - Nirvana at Sammed Shikharji
