How many raksha potli should a person wear at one time
In Jain dharma there is no fixed rule in scriptures about how many raksha potlis a person must wear.
From a practical and bhav point of view:
- One raksha potli is enough.
It is a
symbol of protection and remembrance of pooja, not the real source of protection. Real raksha comes from:
- good karmas,
- ahimsa,
- following vows,
- samyak darshan–gyaan–charitra.
- If you get more than one (e.g. from different poojas / vidhis):
- You may wear
one on the wrist and keep others respectfully in your mandir, locker, pooja box, etc.
- Wearing many together is not wrong, but it easily becomes
adhik vishwas / andh-shraddha (thinking “more potlis = more protection”), which is not a Jain view.
-
Simple and practical (generally 1),
-
Comfortable (not tight, not causing skin issues),
- Worn with
shraddha and right understanding, not fear.
In short:
Wear 1 raksha potli with right faith and live carefully in dharma – that is more important than how many you wear.
