    Small chaityavandan vidhi

    2 months ago 47

Here is a very simple / small Chaityavandan vidhi (Śvetāmbara Mūrtipūjak style), which you can do at home or in derāsar if you don’t know full sutras yet.

    ---

    1. Preparation

    • Take bath (or at least wash hands, feet, mouth).
    • Wear clean, simple (preferably white) clothes.
    • Sit on a clean āsan, facing Jina idol / photo or direction of derāsar.
    • Keep mind calm: “Ab main thodī der ke liye sirf Jinendra bhakti karūṅgā/karūṅgī.”

    ---

    2. Small Chaityavandan (Laghu Vidhi)

    (1) Nissihi & Small Pachchakkhān (mentally)

    • Think: “Ab jitnī der Chaityavandan karūṅgā/karūṅgī, main sabhī viṣay-vikār se alag rahūṅgā/rahūṅgī.”

    (2) Navkār Mantra

    • Sit straight, fold hands.
    • Navkār Mantra 3, 9, or 27 times with full dhyān on Panch Parmeshthi.

    (3) Kayotsarg + Logassa (if you know it)

    • Stand in Kayotsarg (seedhe khade, hile nahiṅ, āṅkh halkī band ya nīche).
    • If you know: Logassa sutra once, slowly.
    • If you don’t know Logassa: just stand silently for 1–2 minutes, remembering 24 Tirthankar Bhagwān.

    (4) Khamāsamano (if known)

    • Sit again.
    • Recite Khamāsamano sutra (asking for forgiveness from all sadhus/sādhvīs).
    • If you don’t know the sutra, simply pray:
    - “Jo galti kisi bhi jīv ke prati hui ho, kṛpā karke mujhe kṣamā kareṅ, main bhavishy meṅ sudharne kā saṅkalp kartā/kartī hūṅ.”

    (5) Chattāri Maṅgalam / Maṅgal Pāṭh

    • Say (if you know):
    - Chattāri Maṅgalam - Pañchindiya (optional, if known)

    Or in very simple Hindi:

    • “Arihant, Siddh, Āchārya, Upādhyāy, aur sabhī sādhus–sādhvīoṅ ko main vandan kartā/kartī hūṅ. Mujhe bhī unke jaise shuddh guṇ milne kā bal mile.”

    (6) Prārthanā & Maitrī Bhāvanā

    • Do a short prayer:
    - “Hey Jinendra Bhagwān, mujhe ahimsā, satya, aparigraha aur samyak dṛṣṭi–chāritr kā bal dijiye. Main sab jīvoṅ se maitri rakhūṅ, kisi se dvesh na karūṅ.”
    • End with:
    - “Micchāmi Dukkaḍaṁ” – “Jo bhī galti soch, vachan, kāyā se hui ho, uske liye main kṣamā māngtā/māngtī hūṅ.”

    ---

    3. For Very Short Time (Ultra-Small Vidhi)

If you have very little time, you can do this minimum:

    1. Navkār Mantra (9 times)
    2. 1–2 minutes Kayotsarg (standing still, remembering Tirthankars)
    3. “Micchāmi Dukkaḍaṁ” with true repentance

This is not a full Chaityavandan, but a short bhāv-pūrvak version for busy days.

    ---

A more detailed Śvetāmbara Mūrtipūjak Chaityavandan sequence with names of all sutras is explained here:
