I did upvaas
Sādhu! Your upvaas (fast) is a beautiful tapa done for samyam and karma‑kshaya. May it bring shānti and uttam bhāva.
Simple Jain way to complete it well
- Bhāva: Sit quietly for a few minutes, recite Navkār Mantra, do pratikraman for any lapses, and offer kshamā to all jīvas.
- Niyam samāpti (ending the vow): Mentally conclude your pachchakkhān and reaffirm ahimsā, satya, aparigraha for the day.
- Pārṇā (breaking the fast, Shvetāmbara maryādā): Do it in daytime within proper pārnā time, preferably with sāttvik, simple gochari. Digambara maryādā may differ locally; follow your kul‑maryādā.
- What to take first: Start with warm/boiled water, then very light items like thin rice gruel, moong broth, or diluted buttermilk. Avoid fried/heavy/spicy food.
- Aftercare: Keep ahimsā and vigilance of ras (taste) today; speak softly, rest enough, and keep swādhyāy/samāyik if possible.
- Dāna: If you can, offer dāna or support for sādhu‑sādhvī gochari or temple cleanliness, dedicating the puṇya to all.
If you plan future upvaas
- Take proper pachchakkhān before sunrise and follow your sect’s rules on water and timing.
- Prefer samāyik, pratikraman, and swādhyāy during the fast rather than worldly work.
For short, clear guidance on upvaas and pachchhān, see:

Bhāva is the essence. May your tapa lead to inner purity and maitri for all jīvas.
