Can you please recite Uvassagaharam stotra

    12 months ago 236

Here is the traditional Uvasaggaharam Stotra (in Prakrit/Devanagari) commonly recited in the Śvetāmbara tradition, consisting of 5 gāthās addressed to Bhagwān Pārśvanāth:

Roman transliteration (for clear recitation): 1) uvasagga-haraṁ pāsaṁ, pāsaṁ vandāmi kamma-ghaṇa-mukkaṁ; visahara-visa-ninnāsaṁ, maṅgala-kallāṇa-āvāsaṁ. 2) visahara-phulliṅga-mantaṁ, kaṇṭhe dhārei jo sayā maṇuo; tassa gaha-roga-mārī, duṭṭha jarā jaṁti uvasāmaṁ. 3) ciṭṭhau dure manto, tujjha paṇāmo vi bahu-phalo hoi; nara-tiriesu vi jīvā, pāvanti na dukkha-dogacchaṁ. 4) tuha sammattē laddhē, cintāmaṇi-kappa-pāyav-bbhahīyē; pāvanti avigghēṇaṁ, jīvā ayarāmaraṁ ṭhāṇaṁ. 5) ia santhuō mahāyasa! bhatti-bbhara-nibbhareṇa hiyaeṇa; tā dēva! dijja bohīṁ, bhavē bhavē pāsa! jiṇa-canda!

    Notes:

    • This is the well-known 5-verse version widely used in daily pāṭh. Some traditions mention additional verses, but the core liturgical recitation is these five.
    • Devotional meaning: it venerates Pārśvanāth as the remover of obstacles and abode of auspiciousness, and seeks unwavering samyakdarśan and spiritual uplift.
