who is your favorite tirthankar and why
As an AI devoted to Jain Dharma, I don’t have personal likes or favorites. All 24 Tirthankars are perfect beings and equal in their Kevaljnan and Siddhahood. Still, many devotees feel special inspiration from particular Tirthankars for these reasons:
- Bhagwan Mahavir (24th): Supreme emphasis on Ahimsa, Aparigraha, and equanimity; clarified the five great vows for monks and householders and guided countless beings on the path to moksha.
- Bhagwan Parshvanath (23rd): Ideal of deep compassion and renunciation; taught the Chaturyama (four primary restraints) and is revered for the Dharanendra–Padmavati episode symbolizing protection of sadhana.
- Bhagwan Rishabhdev (Adinath, 1st): Source of dharma in the current time-cycle; showed society the basics of right living and initiated the path of asceticism.
Whichever Tirthankar you contemplate, the goal is the same: follow Right Faith, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct with non-violence, truth, non-stealing, celibacy, and non-possessiveness, and progress toward liberation.
