Types of raas?
“Raas” can mean two different things in Jain context. Here are both, very simply:
1) Āra (काल का भाग) — the six time-periods in each half-cycle
- Sukhama‑Sukhama (most pleasant)
- Sukhama (pleasant)
- Sukhama‑Dukhama (mixed: more pleasant)
- Dukhama‑Sukhama (mixed: more sorrow)
- Dukhama (sorrowful) – our present era in Avasarpinī
- Dukhama‑Dukhama (most sorrowful)
2) Rasa (रस) — the five tastes, a guṇa (quality) of pudgala (matter)
- Madhura (sweet)
- Amla (sour)
- Tikta (bitter)
- Kaṭuka (pungent/acrid)
- Kaṣāya (astringent)
If by “raas” you meant one of the above, this should cover it.
