“Uvasaggahar(am)” is a Prakrit word from Ardhamāgadhī. It comes from Sanskrit “Upasarga-hara”:

• Upasarga = obstacles, troubles, afflictions
• Hara = remover, destroyer

So “Uvasaggaharam” means “the remover of obstacles/troubles.” In Jain tradition it is also the name of a revered stotra in praise of Bhagwān Pārshvanāth, recited for relief from difficulties and for auspiciousness. Among Śvetāmbars it is widely known as Uvasaggaharam Stotra (traditionally attributed to Āchārya Bhadrabāhu). Digambar communities also recite versions with minor textual variations; the core meaning—seeking the Tīrthankar’s grace to dispel upasargas—remains the same.
