Moksh in 5th ara
Short answer: In Bharat Kshetra during the 5th āra (Pancham Kaal), moksha is not attained.
Details:
- In the present 5th āra, no Tirthankars arise, no Kevalins appear, and liberation (moksha) is not achieved from Bharat or Airavat Kshetra.
- However, sincere sādhanā (vows, samvar–nirjarā, right faith and conduct) creates the causes for future liberation.
- Moksha is still possible right now in Mahāvideh Kshetra, where Tirthankars are always present and the spiritual era is conducive.
Digambar and Shvetambar: Both traditions agree that in the current 5th āra of Bharat Kshetra, moksha is not attained; they also accept that liberation is possible in Mahāvideh Kshetra at present.
