Paryushan (Das Lakshan Parva) is observed differently by Digambar and Shwetambar Jains.

• Digambar Jains: 10 days, each day dedicated to one virtue (Das Lakshan). The ten days correspond to:

1) Kshama (forgiveness) 2) Mardav (humility/modesty) 3) Aarjava (straightforwardness) 4) Shaucha (purity/ cleanliness) 5) Satya (truth) 6) Sayam (restraint) 7) Tapa (austerity) 8) Tyag (renunciation) 9) Akinchanya (non-attachment) 10) Brahmacharya (celibacy/chastity)

• Shwetambar Jains: 8 days, typically with Samvatsari as the forgiveness day on the last day of the festival.
