In the Śvetāmbara tradition:

• Jamālī was married to Mahāvīra’s daughter Priyadarśanā (also called Anojjā).
• Priyadarśanā and Jamālī had a daughter named Yasomati (also mentioned as Sesāvati in some texts), who is Mahāvīra’s granddaughter.

In the Digambara tradition:

• Mahāvīra is regarded as celibate and not married; there are no children recorded for him.
